Natural Grocers

Natural Grocers is a recent discovery for me. I can count on them for healthy choices and a variety of options in every area of the store. The egg prices can't be beat and if you have dietary needs, they probably have what you need. The supplements department is extensive. There is also a personal care section. The staff is very helpful if you have any questions. If you haven't shopped there, check it out!

Minus five degree weather. I just wanted to eat something before I grocery shopped… so I got a yogurt but they don’t have courtesy spoons, you have to buy spoons…. So I bought a spoon so I could buy my yogurt. I have a knee injury It’s very painful to walk and stand. I asked if there’s a place I could sit down…. It takes less than five minutes to eat a yogurt! The one guy had to put permission for the other lady who made a big deal about chairs for employees only… but she said all right we already said yes so I’m 30 seconds into my yogurt when another lady came and said I had to leave immediately. Needless to say, I’m not gonna do my shopping here!!!!!! I have attached the photo of the offending yogurt and my receipt!!!!

My first time, for years I never went as rumor was like the prices were high. Although some are high (beef, eggs etc) alot are reasonable and cheaper. High quality foods! Its perfect for quality meals for individuals, however I could never shop for my household as the bill would be outrageous.

Natural Grocers has a good selection of unique items that you can’t find in other local grocery stores. An example would be their selection of chocolate bars. They have many different supplements. Also a good source of durable reusable shopping bags. You’ll still want to support other local food vendors and grocery stores, but having Natural Grocers on your regular list makes sense. Check out their selection of plant-based meat alternatives.

This might be the best organic grocery store in the Iowa City area. The prices are very reasonable, quite low, even. They have very nice sales and being a member is free and gets you a nice discount on top of their low prices. The quality of the produce is top notch. The staff is always friendly and helpful. If you did not bring your own bags, they sell them and provide boxes for free. They may not always have everything you are looking for, but most everything you will need is there and it is ALL organic. I do most of my shopping there.
